Having led businesses across Europe for 3M Company, Ray Longbottom now coaches and mentors senior executives, combining the skills of a professionally trained coach with the knowledge and judgment of a regional CEO.
As a coach and mentor, Ray Longbottom is passionate about helping leaders clarify their vision and build achievable plans, work more effectively in complex organisations with multiple stakeholders, create high energy cross-cultural and cross-functional teams and develop the next generation. He is committed to the advancement of women in business and to assisting talented younger managers prepare for stretch assignments, such as the transition into general management. He also consults on the successful integration of acquisitions.
Prior to leaving 3M in 2006, Ray was Executive Director of the Safety & Security businesses in Europe/MEA. He was a member of the global Executive Conference and the European Operating Committee. He has particular experience of building pan-European teams, cross-border M&A, successful post-acquisition integration, entry into new markets (Central & East Europe) and pioneering product development and innovation. Ray built a reputation for identifying, coaching and mentoring talented women and men, many of whom are now in senior leadership positions around the world.
Ray is a graduate of the Meyler Campbell “Business Coach” programme. He has accreditation by the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches and is a member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council and the Association for Coaching. Recent clients include BHP Billiton, Experian, Royal Mail, 3M Company and the London Business School.
Ray chairs the board of The Music of Life Foundation, is a trustee of War Child UK and a governor of Therfield School.
