Tony Montes is a Senior Leadership Development expert with expertise in succession management, leadership development and coaching, organisational behaviour, managing organisational politics, managing and leveraging diversity in multicultural teams, high potential assessment and performance management. He is qualified to deliver a range of psychometric instruments and 360 assessments.
Tony currently does a lot of work in the Middle East energy industry where until recently he served ten years as Senior Advisor Talent Management for a national oil company in the Middle East.
Prior to his roles in the Middle East, he served as a faculty member of Ashridge Business School, focusing on leadership and organisation behaviour programmes. There he was Curriculum Director and Subject Leader for HR and Maximizing Human Potential for the Ashridge MBA and Diploma in General Management, and was co-founder of the Ashridge Public Leadership Centre.
Tony draws from years of organisation effectiveness and coaching practice in diverse work environments. His work in Ashridge included client directorship for leadership development in the petroleum industry, global pharmaceuticals, investment banking, and the public sector. He also led leadership programmes for the UK Cabinet Office’s Pathways scheme, consulting for the leadership team of Microsoft UK, and Microsoft EMEA.
He also worked with Shell where he performed various regional and global roles, the last of which was as Global Diversity Manager. His career includes leadership assignments in logistics and supply distribution, internal audits, HR development and training, and transformation management with Shell in the Philippines. He was posted to Shell Malaysia Downstream as Learning and Development Manager and was a lead resource in the consortium of management development programmes for Shell companies in the Asia Pacific region.
Tony has contributed various articles, book chapters and given interviews for journals and newspapers on diversity and inclusion.
